Two birthday’s ago, she took me to see Mavis Staples’ 75th Anniversary concert in Chicago. About a dozen different artists. Each one played a song for Mavis.
Gregg Allman was there. He played “Have a little faith,” a commodity that we can all use a little more of.
I loved the Allman Brothers. I remember listening to the whole “Whipping Post” side of “Live at Fillmore East” in my sister’s apartment. I was fourteen. She thought I was strange.
